Where ya at presently?! Whatcha up to?!
I am currently home! I haven’t been home for more than a week in a long time, and I am excited to make some changes to the blog and get content out. I will be home for a full month and prepping for another month of travel in Europe staring mid-August.

How did Bon Traveler start?
Bon Traveler started as an outlet for guides and inspiring and helping others to book travel. I was a travel consultant in the beginning and realized my passions lied in writing/photography, so I closed my business down as a consultant and pursued blogging full time.

Has there been a shining moment for you and Bon Traveler? Anything that surprised you and or delighted you significantly?
What always surprises me is the support. I love that there is a sense of a global tribe who supports each other. One of my favorite moments yet has been able to work with United Airlines. My first time I flied internationally at age 8 was with UA, and to get to work with the company was a dream.

Regarding travel and or blogging – Is there anything you know now that you wish you would have earlier?
There’s not much I wish I would of known earlier — I wouldn’t change anything. There’s so much delight, pain, growth, and challenge in traveling and blogging. There’s moments that I think will just wipe me out from exhaustion or missed flights, or accounting. Then there’s these moments where travel is beautiful and inspiring, or when someone comments on the blog and says that what you’ve just shared has changed them.

Where all have your journeys taken you and where do you plan to go next?
Journeys have taken me to places like Jordan, to Vietnam, to Canada and more. I love each place equally. I am really excited to head to Bali this upcoming fall for a retreat. I know so many people who have gone, and I am excited to see it for myself.

What do you wish more people knew about travel and or other cultures?
I wish people knew that travel is a powerful way to learn about themselves through other people. I believe we become better people when we travel.

What are your top 5 favorite travel tips? And or Travel Apps
My favorite travel apps: 1. Spot for finding places, 2. GateGuru to figure out what is at an airport, 3. VSCO for editing images from travels, 4. HotelTonight for booking last minute hotels and of course 5. Google Maps because you can download maps offline!

What’s your favorite travel quote and or motto you live by?
I’ve always lived by the motto that the grass is not greener on the other side, but rather where you choose to water it.

If you could have coffee with 5 people, who would they be?
My husband, my family, my closest friends, Alain de Botton, and Anthony Bourdain.

If you could transport to anywhere in the world right now – where would it be?
Annecy, France. It’s my favorite place in the world, and I could never get enough of that magical place set on a lake between the mountains.

Well when we create a transporter we’ll let you know. Next stop, Annecy, France.
